Then, his simple 2D ideas and beliefs are intruded upon by a Sphere from the land of 3 dimensions. philosophically challenging and at the same time mathematically and logically intriguing. Illustrated.

  Victor Appleton was actually a series of ghost writers. The original Tom Swift concept and first books were the work of Edward Stratemeyer and the Stratemeyer Syndicate. Quite a large number of Tom Swift books were written; there are 40 books in the first series focusing on Tom Swift Sr., and another 33 books in the second series focusing on Tom Swift Jr. (and still frequently featuring Tom Swift Sr.). Three additional series were also written, but don't tie in with the first two series. The first 25 stories of the first series have been released to the public domain and are available here.
